Retracted: Effect of Aerobic Exercise on Serum Concentration of Apelin, TNFα and Insulin in Obese Women
Authors
Abstract:
Objective(s)Apelin is novel adipokine acting on APJ receptor, regulated by insulin and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha). Plasma apelin levels are increased in obese subjects. The aim of this study was to investigate whether or not the aerobic exercise modifies the elevated plasma apelin levels in obese women.Materials and MethodsTwenty obese women (BMI 32.2 ± 6.4 kg/m2) were selected by random sampling method among obese women. Twelve healthy women with a BMI of 31.7 ± 0.6 kg/m2 served as control group. The aerobic exercise was performed during 8 weeks, 3 sessions per week. The intensity of the training program proceeded form 50% to 70% in 8 weeks.ResultsResults showed that plasma levels of apelin and TNFα were higher in obese individuals compared with the control group. The exercise resulted in significant decrease (P

full textThe effect of exercise status on response of homocysteine and insulin resistance to aerobic exercise in postmenopausal obese women
Homocysteine and insulin resistance in postmenoupausal women rises due to decrease in estrogen, low mobility and weight gain which increase the cardiovascular diseases. The aim of this study was to examine the effects of aerobic exercise training status on response of homocysteine and insulin resistance to aerobic exercise in active and nonactive obese postmenopausal women. Therefore, 21 obese ...

ABSTRACT Background and Objectives: Inactivity, obesity and hormone disorders can lead to various diseases in obese and non-athletic individuals. The objective of this study was to investigate effects of six months of aerobic exercise on serum levels of insulin, growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like growth hormone 1 (IGF-1) in sedent...

15 صفحه اولEffect of Eight Weeks of Aerobic Aquatic and Land Exercise Training on Leptin, Resistin, and Insulin Resistance in Obese Women
Background: Regular exercise has been shown to improve diabetes-related biological markers. However, for some groups, exercises that require weight bearing are difficult. Therefore, the purpose of the present study was to compare the effect of eight weeks of aerobic aquatic and land exercise training on leptin, resistin, and insulin resistance in obese women. Materials and Methods: In the p...
